Szombatra virradóra megrongálták egy konföderációs tábornok szobrát rasszizmusellenes tüntetők Washingtonban. Az egyetlent, amelyet az amerikai fővárosban egy déli katonatisztnek emeltek – derült ki a helyi médiában bemutatott videofelvételekről.

Az ABC7 News tévécsatornán az volt látható, hogy többtucatnyi tüntető egy kötél segítségével ledöntötte, majd felgyújtotta Albert Pike, a déliek egyik tábornokának szobrát.

A résztvevők eközben azt skandálták, hogy: számítanak a fekete életek.
Donald Trump amerikai elnök a Twitter közösségi oldalon az esetről azt írta, a tett gyalázat az országra nézve, és a tettesek őrizetbe vételére szólított fel.
