Katonai kommunikációs műholdat bocsátott fel Dél-Korea az Egyesült Államokból helyi idő szerint hétfőn a SpaceX űrkutatási vállalat Falcon 9-es rakétájával – tudatta Szöulban a koreai védelmi beszerzési hivatal (DAPA).

 Az Anasis-II műhold helyi idő szerint hétfőn 17.30-kor indult el a Falcon 9-cel a Kennedy Űrközpontból, Floridából, és nem sokkal később sikeresen levált a hordozóról.

A DAPA hangsúlyozta, hogy ezzel Dél-Korea belépett azoknak az országoknak a szűk körébe, amelyek rendelkeznek kizárólag katonai célokat szolgáló távközlési műholddal.

Dél-Koreával együtt immár 10 ilyen ország van a világon.
